Centre Cook
Young Academics, located in the heart of Smeaton Grange is seeking an experienced Centre Cook to join our team.
Young Academics Early Learning Centre is a leading and reputable provider with more than 50 centres across New South Wales. We are currently seeking an experienced Centre Cook to join our Smeaton Grange Service.
This position is a full-time role - Monday to Friday between 8 am - 4 pm
About the Role
As a Centre Cook at Young Academics, your expertise in the kitchen will assist in creating meaningful learning experiences and environments that reflect best practice and align with our service philosophy. As a service, compliance and child safety remain our highest priority, and you will be expected to uphold our child-safe practices in all aspects of your role. You will also collaborate with fellow educators to build strong, respectful partnerships with children, families and the wider community, fostering a supportive environment that enhances children’s health and safety, wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong love of learning.
Responsibilities
Implement and modify (where required) a seasonal menu created by our nutritionist
Maintain regular checks in compliance with the NSW Food Standards Code and Health Regulations
Assist staff and families in providing high-quality education and care
Collaborate with the staff and families to facilitate learning opportunities relevant to the educational program
Maintain professional, supportive and respectful relationships between management, staff, families and children
About You
Demonstrated Cook/Chef experience in the Aged Care or Early Childhood Education and Care sector
An ACECQA-approved qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care is preferred but not mandatory
Alternatively, a relevant Commercial Cooks qualification
Food Handlers Basics Certificate
Valid NSW Employee Working with Children Check
Knowledge of Food Standards Codes, EYLF and NQS
